Compassion and a holisitic approach are central cornerstones to my practice. Each individual is unique and sessions are tailored to fit the needs of those I work with. Sometimes it can take the discomfort of our current situation to inspire a different way of being. While it can take courage to reach out and ask for help; counselling has many benefits and offers a space for reflection, growth, and healing.

My therapeutic approach is based on an integrative therapeutic framework. This means that I apply knowledge and techniques from multiple schools of psychology to help clients reach their goals. The underpinnings of this integrative approach include but are not limited to cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and client-centered therapy.

My Approach

I have been providing counselling to children, adolescents, and adults for eleven years. I am presently employed full-time as a Senior Counsellor with Queen's University, Student Wellness Services. I previously resided in Edmonton, Alberta where I worked as a psychologist with Alberta Health Services (Addiction and Mental Health Services). Working in this environment allowed me to develop strong clinical skills while providing compassionate care to my clients.

For several years I worked with federal inmates at the Correctional Service of Canada as a provisional psychologist (under supervised practice). In this position, I operated in many roles including counselling offenders enrolled in the dialectical behaviour therapy program, facilitating groups, and providing risk assessments.

I am a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
